"America Wins With Free Trade" Bus Tour |

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has launched a new nationwide grassroots educational initiative to help all Americans understand the importance of trade to creating jobs and driving U.S. economic growth. Hosted by the World Trade Center Miami and the Port of Miami, the “America Wins with Free Trade” Bus Tour event featured discussions on why free trade matters and the importance of the Colombia Free Trade Agreement.
Among those who spoke at the “bus stop” in Miami were Jose Perez-Jones, Chairman, World Trade Center Miami and Senior Vice President, Seaboard Marine; Charlotte Gallogly, President, World Trade Center Miami; Hector Pesquera, Acting Director, Port of Miami; Steven Hill, CEO/Straight Wire & Member, Consumer Electronics Association; Manny Mencia, Sr. VP, Intl. Business Development Enterprise Florida; Barry Johnson, President, Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce; Ricardo Tribin, President, Colombian American Chamber of Commerce; Hugh Addington, Nahigian Strategies and Ines Calderon, Executive Director, Gateway Florida. With Americans’ support for international trade ebbing, CEA is engaging in a national effort to highlight the importance of trade to American companies and most importantly, American workers. The bus tour, which started in New York, made its way south through Washington, DC to Miami, then circling out west and into the heartland, ended in Birmingham, AL after seven weeks. The CEA has called on Congress to pursue reject isolationism and enact trade agreements that expand the economy and create American jobs. |
