2nd Annual International Commerce Award |
Ines Calderon attended the 2nd Annual International Commerce Award Ceremony hosted by the World Trade Center Tampa Bay on July 25th. The Tampa Bay area is becoming more aware of its importance in international trade and greatly appreciated the support of Gateway Florida in its second annual dinner.
Since its inception in October of 2003, the World Trade Center Tampa Bay has established its presence as an international trade authority and began the region’s first trade missions. In order to set regional benchmarks to continue trade missions, the center recognizes pioneers, leaders and executives who have made a significant impact in advancing international trade with the International Commerce Award Ceremony.
This year, the World Trade Center Tampa Bay acknowledged two outstanding citizens for their service to promote international trade. The recipient of the 2008 Honoree Award was Rick Murrell, Chairman and President of Tropical Shipping Lines, Inc. Mr. Murrell was presented the award for his success as a business leader with a substantial record of promoting economic development in the Caribbean.
The second award of the ceremony went to William A. Krusen, Sr. He was granted the Sam M. Gibbons Lifetime Achievement Award for successfully operating a number of business endeavors, including a flight school, aviation mechanical school and airlines servicing the Cayman Islands and the Florida Keys. Both recipients graciously accepted their awards and will continue to serve as role models for promoting global business understanding. |
