July 19: IDB’s Opportunities for the Majority Initiative: Base of the Pyramid (BOP) Workshop |

Gateway Florida partnered with Enterprise Florida to invite a group of companies selected from their database to participate in the “Base of a Pyramid Modeling Workshop for the Majority Initiative” geared to the $30 million and up companies. I Calderon attended the event which took place on July 19th. There were approximately 30 companies in attendance many if which were there due to the EFI email invitation. Elisabeth Boggs Davidsen, Opportunities for the Majority Initiative Officer at the IDB, had contacted Gateway Florida to assist her in getting companies for the workshop at which companies were taught how they can expand their business by engaging with low-income communities in Latin America and the Caribbean. The success of these enterprises serves to foment the mission of the Pathways initiative. One of the attendees was Walmart which already employs many of these operations in the hemisphere as part of their corporate social responsibility goal.
